New screenings announced for March

Bro­ken Hill has been accepted into two more film fes­ti­vals screen­ing in March.

THE INTERNATIONAL FAMILY FILM FESTIVAL
The Inter­na­tional Fam­ily Film Fes­ti­val unites film­mak­ers and audi­ences from around the globe in one heart, one mind, one world, through its fun­da­men­tal respect for human­ity and the affir­ma­tive val­ues of life as told through films that share the uni­ver­sal expe­ri­ences that con­nect us all. Cel­e­brat­ing its 15th year, the 2010 Inter­na­tional Fam­ily Film Fes­ti­val will be held at Raleigh Stu­dios in the heart of Hol­ly­wood, 5300 Mel­rose Avenue, March 11 — March 14.  This year’s theme is Fam­ily Sto­ries are Time­less . Screen­ing times will be posted when con­firmed.

TIBURON INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The Tiburon Inter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val (TIFF) is an annual event, which seeks to pro­vide a greater under­stand­ing of the world and its many cul­tures through the artis­tic medium of film, and through the top qual­ity films from around the world. TIFF wishes to enhance tol­er­ance between peo­ple of all back­grounds. Its goal is one of cul­tural enrich­ment and height­ened cul­tural aware­ness, and to cre­ate a plat­form for the inde­pen­dent film­mak­ers to express their tal­ent and vision from any nation. TIFF strongly believes in its motto: “Under­stand­ing the World through Film”®. TIFF runs from Mar 18 – 26. Screen­ing times will be posted when confirmed

Walker School Screening

The Walker School Alumni Asso­ci­a­tion was thrilled to be able to host the Atlanta-area pre­miere of Bro­ken Hill. Alexa Vega, Chris Wyatt and Sean Covel spent some time in Mari­etta with stu­dents on cam­pus about their expe­ri­ences in the film industry.

Accolade Film Festival

Bro­ken Hill recently won awards at The Acco­lade Film Awards. Enter­ing its sev­enth year, The Acco­lade is an inter­na­tional, non-traditional, vir­tual venue. Awards go to those film­mak­ers who pro­duce fresh, stand­out enter­tain­ment, ani­ma­tion and com­pelling doc­u­men­taries. The Acco­lade is a show­case for cin­e­matic gems and unique voices. Broken Hill heads to Atlanta

MARIETTA — Film­maker and Walker School alum­nus Chris Wyatt will return home to Cobb on Wednes­day for the release of his newest movie, “Bro­ken Hill,” which pre­mieres at 7:30 p.m. at the Regal Town Cen­ter Stadium-16 The­ater in Kennesaw.

Wyatt is a Hol­ly­wood pro­ducer who has pro­duced sev­eral films, includ­ing the smash hit “Napoleon Dyna­mite,” since grad­u­at­ing from Walker in 1993. Pro­ceeds from the pre­miere will go to the Walker School Annual Fund. Tick­ets are $5 each and can be reserved at walkeralumni.org/brokenhill. Read more
